Another comfort and durability issue: the deck’s carpet density.

The quality of a carpet is measured in ounces of extruded fibres. Some manufacturers install carpets with density as low as 10 oz .(480g). Carpet density must be considered when shopping for a pontoon and make sure it is the manufacturer’s standard and not an option.

Additionally, ask for a carpet with a neutral colour. A carpet colour that matches the pontoon’s top may be attractive, but remember this: After just a few months, dark carpets fade when exposed to the sun and wear is more apparent in high traffic areas (such as at the gate).

What about carpet in changing room where is usually located the toilet? At Southland, in standard in our deluxe models, we fix vinyl in the changing room. Keeps less the smells and easier to clean up.
